THE STRUGGLE OF THE BELIEVER AFTER ACCEPTING CHRIST
A Case For Making Judgment Right
Although we are frequently warned against judging, quoting the scripture that says so and think like this makes us heretic, we often overlook the profound declaration found in the Word: "I will make you judges over all nations." There exists a deep misunderstanding in our day, where people confuse judgment with mere fault-finding or the search for human perfection.
True judgment is not about condemning people; it is about establishing Truth moving from surface level evaluations to discernment driven by truth, empathy, and humility.
It is a spiritual process of discerning what the Law of God says regarding a specific matter and aligning it with His written Word. When an issue is brought before a believer who understands this weighty responsibility, they do not judge by emotions or traditions, but strictly by what heaven says. Because we have lost this understanding, injustice thrives. Innocent people remain bound while immorality spreads freely, simply because we have restricted justice to the four walls of the church or the buildings of the court. The reality is that not every matter requires a judge in a robe; we, as citizens of the Kingdom, are equipped to bring order, peace, and justice into our homes, markets, and workplaces.
THE DISTINCTION: CRITICISM VERSUS AUTHORITY
While the scripture warns
"Judge not, that you be not judged" (Matthew 7:1),
this verse is specifically addressing hypocrisy, pride, and the spirit of condemnation. It prevents us from playing God, deciding eternal destinies or looking down on others as if we were superior.
However, on the other hand, the Bible boldly asks,
"Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?" (1 Corinthians 6:2).
We are called to judge matters, not just people. Being a judge means applying a divine standard to a situation and declaring, "According to this standard, this is right or wrong." This is not hatred; it is the very definition of justice, without which society cannot stand.
THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON: A PATTERN FOR JUDGMENT
To understand how this works, we must look at King Solomon. When he asked God for an understanding heart, he was not asking for popularity, but for the capacity to
"discern between good and evil" (1 Kings 3:9).
We remember the famous case of the two mothers and one living child. Human logic would have failed, and the child would have been divided or given wrongly. But Solomon, operating in divine judgment, did not look at the women's faces or their words alone; he looked at the nature of the matter. He proposed a solution that exposed the truth hidden in their hearts.
This is the model. Judgment is not about shouting; it is about wisdom that brings truth to light. It protects the innocent and exposes deception, just as Solomon saved the child and brought peace to the nation.
JUDGMENT AS A SHIELD OF PROTECTION
When a society loses the ability to judge right from wrong based on eternal truth, it begins to decay from within.
- A wise parent judges what is safe for their children, shielding them from harm.
- A godly leader judges what is beneficial for the community, ensuring progress and peace.
- A mature believer looks at a path and judges it by the Word, knowing that it leads to destruction, and therefore refuses to walk there.
When we remain silent simply because we fear being labeled "judgmental," we effectively open the door for evil to grow and for the innocent to suffer.
THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM: KNOWLEDGE AND FEAR
The reason we are failing today lies in two critical areas, and they work together to cripple the church and the nation.
First, there is a Lack of Knowledge.
You cannot exercise authority over what you do not understand. The scripture warns that
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6).
Without a clear revelation of God's standard, we cannot separate light from darkness, and we drift along with whatever culture dictates.
Second, there is the Fear of Man.
Even when truth is known, many remain silent because they are afraid of criticism or rejection. This spirit of fear causes compromise. When righteous men and women hide their light, darkness takes over completely.
The result is always the same: the innocent are crushed because no one stood to say "This is wrong," confusion reigns because truth is hidden, and evil spreads because there is no restraint.
THE FAILURE ON BOTH SIDES
This crisis is not the fault of one group alone; it is a collective failure of leadership and followership.
The Leaders have failed.
They are meant to be the teachers and examples, yet many have traded truth for popularity, preaching smooth things to fill pockets and pews. They have hidden the heavy truths of righteousness and judgment, focusing only on blessings, and they tremble in fear of government or public opinion when they should stand firm.
The Believers have also failed.
Many have become lazy in study, waiting for others to feed them instead of eating the Word for themselves. They have forgotten that we are all kings and priests, called to judge in our spheres of influence. By trying to fit into the world, they have lost the power to distinguish right from wrong.
Because the gatekeepers are sleeping, evil enters easily, laws are broken, and justice is perverted.
THE REMNANT THAT STANDS
Nevertheless, the story is not over. There is a remnant rising today who refuse to bow to compromise. These are leaders who preach the truth without fear and believers who walk in holiness and wisdom. They are the pillars that hold the nation up.
They possess the knowledge of the Word and the courage to apply it. They are the true judges who correct error and protect the weak. Like a candle in a dark room, their light changes the atmosphere, restoring judgment that is based on the mind of Christ, not the politics of men.
THE PATH TO RESTORATION
The solution requires a balance of two powerful forces: Teaching and Action.
Teaching builds the foundation. It opens the eyes of the blind and removes confusion, showing people exactly what the Word says.
Action demonstrates the power. It is the standing up, the correcting, and the living out of holy principles.
Teaching tells us what to do, but action shows us how to do it. And this work must happen on two levels:
It must start at home, for if we cannot judge our own households, we have no right to judge the nation. But it must also go out publicly, because truth is light, and light is not meant to be hidden.
ย
CONCLUSION: LET THE TRUTH FLOW
โDon't focus on the darkness (right or wrong) focus on the light (trust/clarity)โ
The final instruction is clear: We must start communicating the truth in all ways.
Speak it with your mouth in the market, the office, and the church. Live it with your life, so that your actions speak louder than your words. Use every platform, every opportunity, and every gift you have to declare what is right.
When we flood the earth with this truth, confusion will vanish, the sleeping will awake, and right will become the standard again. Let the Truth flow like a river, for this is how we will change our world.
